AREA ATTRACTIONS

Something for everyone, in every season
Varo View is located just 10 miles north of Prairie du Chien, the oldest community on the Upper Mississippi River and the second oldest community in Wisconsin. Rich in history, you can learn more at the Fort Crawford Museum, the Villa Louis, or across the river at Effigy Mounds National Monument.

At the heart of Driftless Wisconsin, the area also offers pristine hiking, boating (motor or paddle), UTV trails, hunting, fishing and bird-watching. So many opportunities to get out and explore, Wyalusing State Park offers stunning views from the trails and is where the waters of the Wisconsin River meet the Mississippi. Pike's Peak State Park across the river in Iowa offers a 500-foot bluff overlooking the Upper Mississippi River. Pack a picnic and enjoy the views.

Just a short drive down the bluff from Varo View Cabin is Lock and Dam #9 near Lynxville. Watch the boats and barges lock through and enjoy great fishing!
